JIALING is a Taiwanese American producer, DJ, musician, and interdisciplinary artist. Born and raised in Baltimore, they were a classically trained cellist for 15 years before transitioning to visual/sound art and eventually honing in their craft of producing dance music.
Currently based between New York and Baltimore, they have a monthly residency on Balamii and frequently play in both cities.They have a diverse catalog of self releases under both JIALING and BIG J in addition to releases on Clasico Records, Gimme A Break Records, Room Service, and Air Texture. Earlier this year, Jia released their debut album exploring the intersection of eastern and western instruments, playing both the cello and erhu on the project. They have done remixes for 2Lanes, nextdimensional, Honey B, Seimei on Sorry records, Tomu DJ on No Bias, and Om Unit x James Bangura on Local Action.
JIALING co-founded WOE (Baltimore) alongside Kade Young and is a member of Ayi Ayi (NY).
